I tried to think of ways to push the traditional still life into interesting directions. The idea here was to take advantage of the fact that, in a photo, you really have no sense of scale. So I made something reminiscent of a bowl of fruit out of my (embarrassingly large) pill collection. I noticed that these pills are similar to fruits in their range of colors and shapes. The "bowl" is really a plastic suction cup, inverted. I used my macro lens at F22 to keep it all in focus. I did a lot of experiments with lighting; this one was my favorite.
