After abandoning my bizarre idea to stage a still life upside-down somehow, I came up with this idea to do it on an angle. The arrangement of wine bottle, glass, cork and opener is fairly traditional but the whole thing was on a board inclined by about 30 degrees. So it all looks normal except for the tilted surface of the wine glass. I used putty to anchor the objects and 30 degrees was about as far as I felt safe tilting the whole arrangement. I used my new umbrella reflector for my flash because the flash by itself made shadows and highlights that were too harsh.
